
Dr. Debbie Sookman
Dr. Debbie Sookman is Director of The Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) Clinic, McGill University Health Center (MUHC), Department of Psychology, and Associate Professor, Department of Psychiatry, Faculty of Medicine, McGill University, Montreal, Canada. Dr. Sookman is an internationally known expert in the assessment and treatment of OCD. To date she has assessed and treated (or supervised the treatment of) over nine thousand patients suffering from OCD. Her clinical work, research, and numerous publications focus on improving treatment response of particularly difficult‐to‐treat symptoms, in order to achieve symptom remission for as many patients as possible. She has developed specialized cognitive and behavioral interventions for particularly difficult-to treat OCD symptoms and related difficulties. Dr. Sookman’s most recent publications include a special OCD section in Psychiatry Research, 2015, and an invited book: Specialized Cognitive Behavior Therapy for Obsessive Compulsive Disorder: An Expert Clinician Guidebook, Routledge, 2016. Dr. Sookman is currently chair of an international accreditation task force (ATF) of 41 OCD experts through the life span representing 14 nations. The ongoing ATF mandate is establishment of specialty knowledge and competency standards required for specialized treatments for OCD through the lifespan (specialty CBT, pharmacotherapy). The aim of this pioneering initiative is to achieve transformative international improvement in quality and accessibility of specialized treatments for OCD and related disorders. Dr. Sookman established and is the President of The Canadian Institute for Obsessive Compulsive Disorders (CIOCD, www.ciocd.ca) whose professional committees comprise over 60 national and international experts on OCD through the lifespan as well an active grassroots community network. Dr. Sookman is a Fellow of the Canadian Association of Cognitive and Behavioral Therapies, and a Fellow and Certified Trainer/Consultant of the Academy of Cognitive Therapy, USA.
Dr. Sookman is a very experienced clinical supervisor, having served as Director of Training in the Department of Psychology, McGill University Health Center/RVH by appointment for a period of 14 years, up until 2012.

Hilary Duncan
Hilary Duncan, Ph.D.(c) has completed her clinical training and is currently in the final stages of completing the research portion of her doctorate degree.
Hilary has had a variety of clinical training experiences: a hospital memory clinic, an inpatient stroke ward, an outpatient neurorehabilitation clinic, a hospital psychology department, and a specialized OCD clinic, under the supervision of Dr. Debbie Sookman.
She has conducted both individual and group psychotherapy and has extensive training in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Specialized CBT for Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (with exposure and response prevention).
Levi Riven
Levi Riven, Ph.D.(c) trained at length in a specialty OCD clinic with Dr. Debbie Sookman, where he developed expertise in assessing and treating individuals with obsessive compulsive and related disorders.
He completed his research and clinical training in neuropsychology as well as individual and group psychotherapy at a variety of clinics and hospitals. These include the University of Connecticut Health Center, The Jewish General Hospital, and the Allan Memorial Institute. He also specializes in assessment and treatment of ADHD, neurodegenerative conditions, and traumatic brain injury.
